        My name is Terry Stanley. My wife and I began meeting in homes in the late 1980's. I was born again in a Baptist church building in Houston Texas. Immediately after being saved, I wanted to tell the world about Jesus! I wanted to feed the hungry, give to the poor and proclaim the good news. I saw everyone in the world as in chains and bondage and I wanted to set them free, just as I had been set free! I wanted the truth. I did not want to play games. I wanted to get together and talk about Jesus with other Christians, read the Bible, pray, be accountable - and not just on Sundays, but all the time. I read in the book of Acts that the New Testament church did the same thing. Wow! I thought it was amazing that my desires and experiences were the same desires and experiences with people who lived a couple of thousand of years ago. There really is one Spirit!

        But, how rare it was (and still is) for people to share these same desires today. People would tell me that they “didn’t feel led”, to go out and give of themselves. Most people only wanted to sit on a pew once a week for an hour and not get together any other time during the week. A deacon told me in 1988 that, “I was just a new believer and that the excitability would ware off and that I would calm down after a while” (by the way, that hasn’t happened yet).

        Within 2 years after my conversion in the Baptist building, I went to college and discovered in that college town there were about 30 families meeting “outside of the traditional setting”. They were meeting house to house, many times a week for meals, prayer, Bible study. I’d never seen such sincerity before and people just “being real”. There, during college, I found like minded and more importantly “like hearted” believers. I discovered people who, just like myself, that Jesus and the church was their WHOLE life. Not A PART of their life. I soon married my wife Nanci.

        We now live in Houston, TX and continue to meet in homes with families. Nanci is a licensed midwife who practices in the Houston area. She loves gardening and serving ladies with pregnancy issues and birth. My oldest daughter, Brittney loves horses and art. Heidi, my second daughter, loves photography and text messaging! Samuel, my son, loves to play sports, ride bikes, and ride skateboards. My youngest daughter Emily, loves her Mom and she loves making "smores" by a camp fire. All four of our children are home schooled and they also attend a private school.

        I personally, am a high school business teacher and tennis coach. I enjoy tennis, golf, and fellowship with the brothers.
